AIDA-Arctic Indigenous Design Archives -project is a project ideatized and conceptualized by Inka Kangasniemi in 2015. In the project financed by the Interreg Nord program. Sámi Archives of  National Archives of Finland, Swedish Ájtte museum and Norwegian Sámi University are coorperation in this project. So far, numerous archives of Sámi designers, artists and craftsmen, as well as Sámi handicraft associations, have been handed over to the Duodji archive created during the project. The archives describe the design thinking and processes behind Sámi design.

The main goal of AIDA project was to create permanent service to Archive institutions in Sámi area. During the AIDA 1 we developed digital duodji-archives (duodji, traditional sámi craft) to ensure the preservation of the traditional knowledge that otherwise might be lost.
