The DecoChrom idea challenge was a contest for everybody that has an idea for novel application scenarios for electrochromic displays. Our SaveDrop -team (Herttakaisa Herkkola, Inka Kangasniemi, Maiju Kettunen, Emma Kirjavainen & Aelita Spiridonova) won the contest with idea of SaveDrop wich combines electrochromic display with inelligent housing system.
SaveDrop is a concept meant to display real-time water consumption while using water. The electrochromic display would demonstrate the amount of water consumed during the day. The system is meant to be easy to install in different locations. Due to its flexibility it will also be suitable for curved surfaces. The display with minimalistic design can be attached to different places in a house making it blend into the background.
